Biometric face recognition Access Control systems [BIOFACE-AC], based on face geometry readers BIOFACE.xxxxU/M-AC series guarantee its users the feeling of COMFORT (carrying RFID proximity cards or memorizing PIN codes is unnecessary) and SAFETY (unique digital face or fingerprint pattern). These systems allow free movement in and around objects for authorized persons and guard access from unauthorized persons.

During correct authorization of a registered user, i.e. proper identification of a digital face or fingerprint image, an authorized user is able to enter a protected room, security-zone or an object.

The additional advantage of specific biometric face geometry readers, operating in biometric face recognition Access Control systems [BIOFACE-AC] is the possibility of performing a simple Time and Attendance function.

A biometric reader has got 6 function buttons, built-in infrared (IR) HD camera, standard memory storage : 5.000 digital face images, 700 digital fingerprint images, 10.000 RFID cards and records up to 100.000 events. All events (T&A statuses) are stored in the internal memory of the biometric readers. Data is sent and downloaded from the biometric terminal using:

  • local LAN network
  • wide WAN network
  • RS232/485 serial communications

    • or optionally:

  • WIFI network
  • GPRS network
  • PenDrive device

DETAILED TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF USER AUTHORIZATION

Registered users of biometric face recognition Access Control [BIOFACE-AC] system are being authorized in an automatic mode, which means that the users are able to enter a protected room, security-zone or an object just by positioning their face close to the HD camera or placing one of the registered fingers directly on the optical scanner and waiting for correct authorization of digital images of the face or fingerprint. An identification of a digital fingerprint image lasts approx. 1 sec. in 1:N mode and approx. 0,5 sec. in 1:1 mode.

Biometric readers or proximity RFID readers, operating in Access Control systems based on: FACE GEOMETRY [BIOFACE-AC/T&A], FINGERPRINT [BIOFINGER-AC/T&A], RFID proximity cards [RFID-AC/T&A] or PIN codes, are chosen based on technical conditions in certain buildings and individual expectations of Customers.

Biometric readers collaborate with any type of doors (wooden, metal, glass, anti-burglar, other) and any type of electric door lock.


The PTC SECURITY SYSTEMS company has invented and implemented a copyrighted idea for integration of biometric readers with advanced alarm control panel INTEGRA series or CA-64 by the SATEL company. Basic advantage of integration of systems is the direct collaboration with the expander of proximity card reader CA-64SR. Using a signal converter allows to:

  • automatically disarm the alarm system where a correct authorization of a user was made
  • monitor events in SATEL company system
